Long before becoming an NBA superstar, Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry dreamt of being a head coach.

Today, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is praised for impacting the modern era with his phenomenal three-point shooting ability.

In the process, Curry has helped the Warriors win four NBA Championships. In fact, Steph is one of the faces of the league.

Stephen Curry on Ayesha Curry saying she hated that he became an NBA superstar

Steph’s wife, Ayesha Curry, has been by the Warriors star’s side long before his astronomical rise in popularity.

Ayesha recently revealed she hated it when Curry became an NBA superstar. Why? Because the Baby-Faced Assassin apparently dreamt of coaching a high school team.

During a recent conversation with NBC Sports Bay Area & California, Curry addressed the huge revelation made by his wife.

“I mean, anything’s possible. I just know, yeah, it was definitely something that my mom was an educator growing up,” Curry said.

He added: “So I kind of understood how to connect with people, seeing people, you know, learn a skill or learn anything really, and that joy that comes with accomplishment, and that always got me going.”

With Curry in the twilight years of his NBA career, the Warriors star hinted at potentially revisiting his dream of becoming a high school basketball team coach.

Steph Curry on the ‘alternate universe’ where he never became an NBA superstar

While Curry revealed that anything’s possible once he retires from the NBA, he also spoke about what his honest feelings would have been if he had indeed become a high school coach.

“So who knows what the future holds, but just the idea of, yeah, the alternate universe. So I would have been happy, happy as hell being a high school coach.

“You know how important, you know, that presence is for kids, but everybody has a role to play. I took a different path,” Curry concluded.

Coming back to reality, Curry is currently preparing for the 2025-26 season. The Warriors star named a ‘beautiful challenge’ that’s waiting for him next season.

Steph and the Warriors will open the new season on the road against their rivals the Los Angeles Lakers.
