Manchester United boss Ruben Amorin admits that his side are experiencing a difficult time, especially in the Premier League. This past weekend, Man United suffered another home defeat in the league, this time to Brighton, 3-1.
Amorim Admits Man United are In Trouble
Despite a mini-positive run of results, consistency remains an issue for United, which suffered a disappointing loss on Sunday. Their midweek victory against Southampton, can’t help Amorim’s team rediscover their winning ways on the weekend as Brighton stumped them.
Playing at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes’ penalty in the first half was not enough to stop their opponent as Brighton put three goals past Andre Onana. That defeat was their fourth defeat in their last five home game at Old Trafford, which is certainly a negative and concerning record.
After the match, Amorim is not shy in admitting that his team are still struggling and remains in trouble, notably in the Premier League. Moreover, the coach also hopes that his players can survive their current negative moment before they can get their feet back again.
Man U Current Team Labeled the Worst in Their History
Not only admitting that his side will need to survive from their current moment, Amorim also labelled the current Man United as potentially the worst in their history. Albeit harsh, the tactician did reveal how they only managed to win two out of 10 Premier League games under his management so far.
Moreover, although admitting that his side are struggling, Amorim ensures that he is not planning to change his tactical approach and philosophy. The Portuguese tactician remains confident that his way of playing will eventually bring Man United to success but at the moment, they must first survive the storm.
“I’m not going to change no matter what and I know we can succeed but we need to survive this moment because I’m not naive,” Amorim told the media during the press conference.
“We are being the worst team, maybe in the history of Manchester United,” the Portuguese tactician added. I know you want headlines, but I think that. Because we have to acknowledge that and change that”.
