Leah Galton is dealing with a back issue, while Ella Toone is currently sidelined with a hip problem.
Those injuries have kept both players out of action so far in 2026, and Skinner went on to say that no date remains set for Galton’s return, although Toone is looking at a comeback towards March’s conclusion.
That timeframe would see our no.7 miss the Subway Women’s League Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday 15 March, but potentially be back for the WSL derby battle with Manchester City, two weekends later at Old Trafford.
“Leah, there’s still no update on time and Tooney is on track, so hopefully around the end of March to be back and around with the group, and it accelerates when she is on the field then,” Skinner said.
“If we don’t have any further knockbacks, which we haven’t done, it’s been pretty good the healing process, we then should hopefully have her back towards the end of March.
“Potentially, yes [she’s a doubt for the League Cup final],” he added, when asked about Toone’s availability final. “It probably comes a bit too soon that one, I would imagine aiming roughly around the City game, to be in and around, to see where we’re at. Hopefully, we can welcome her back then.”
