Ex-Formula 1 drivers Nyck de Vries and Kamui Kobayashi, along with Mike Conway, claimed victory in the 2026 Le Mans 24 Hours for Toyota at the weekend.

The trio’s #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid took top spot in the French endurance classic by just 11 seconds from the #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 of Robin Frijns, Rene Rast and Sheldon van der Linde after 24 hours of racing.

It marked the Japanese manufacturer’s first win in the Le Mans 24 Hours for four years, with ex-AlphaTauri driver de Vries claiming his first win in the event.

For Kobayashi, who claimed an F1 podium with Sauber in the 2012 Japanese Grand Prix, it was his second win in the race, with Conway also standing on the top step for the second time.

The podium was completed by the sister Toyota car, driven by ex-F1 drivers Sebastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley, as well as Haas reserve driver, Ryo Hirakawa.

A total of 16 ex-F1 drivers competed in the 94th-running of the event, with Sebastien Bourdais, Jack Aitken, Andre Lotterer and Kevin Magnussen failing to see the chequered flag on Sunday afternoon.
