Only a few short years ago, the Hungarian Grand Prix offered the F1 calendar’s cheapest tickets. Sadly, prices have risen at the Hungaroring as the owners of the circuit complete long-overdue renovations, including the construction of a new pit building and main grandstand in 2025. This year, Hungary offers the sixth cheapest tickets on the calendar (and still the cheapest tickets in Europe), according to our most recent Formula 1 ticket price ranking.
Ticket prices have risen around 7.5% from 2026 to 2027, but there’s still plenty of affordable grandstand options at the Hungaroring under €300 for three days. The most popular options do sell out quickly!
Budapest remains one of Formula 1’s most vibrant cities, though like almost everywhere else these days, is no longer the bargain it once was for international visitors. The Hungarian currency (the forint) has also appreciated by around 20% against major currencies like the EUR, USD and GBP in the past 12 months. The best accommodation in the Hungarian capital is subject to the dreaded ‘F1 surcharge’ but there’s still a good supply of apartments and other affordable places to stay. Eating and drinking on race weekend also remains affordable away from the track, though not in the overpriced city centre – head a few blocks away from the river for better deals!

Average costs are per person, based on a stay of 3 nights in central Budapest with race tickets, accommodation and spending money. The prices do not include flights (or other travel costs) required to reach Budapest.
Budget fans buy the cheapest race tickets (General Admission) and camp by the track or stay in a hostel. Mid-Range fans buy a grandstand ticket and stay in a 3-star hotel, whilst High-End fans buy a hospitality package and stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel.
