McLaren has doubled down on its golden boy, Oscar Piastri, locking the Australian star into a multi-year contract extension that keeps him at Team Papaya for the long haul.
The announcement electrifies a team already riding high, cementing Piastri as a cornerstone of their championship-chasing future.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2023, Piastriâs rise has been nothing short of meteoric. The former Formula 3 and Formula 2 champ wasted no time proving his worth, snagging a Sprint win in his rookie year and dazzling with podiums in Japan and Qatar.
His original multi-year deal, inked upon arrival, was swiftly stretched to 2026âproof of McLarenâs early faith, and has now been prolonged further.
But last year was when Piastri truly ignited. At just 23, he claimed his maiden Grand Prix wins in Hungary and Azerbaijan, and racked up eight podiums from Monaco to Qatar.
Unshakable, he completed every lap of the season, finishing fourth in the Driversâ Championship and fueling McLarenâs triumphant Constructorsâ title.
