Yuki Tsunoda believes adapting to Red Bull’s RB21 for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix will “be very challenging” despite “expecting a lot more trickiness” from the car during pre-event simulator sessions.

The 24-year-old will make his Red Bull debut this weekend for his home race at the Suzuka Circuit, having been promoted from sister team Racing Bulls in place of Liam Lawson.

Lawson lasted just two events alongside reigning World Champion Max Verstappen at the Red Bull squad, having failed to finish inside the points in either Australia or China after disappointing qualifying performances.

While Tsunoda also failed to finish in the points for both Grands Prix, the Japanese driver impressed, having qualified fifth and ninth respectively as well as claiming sixth in China’s Sprint.
