We’re used to seeing PGA Tour players swinging drivers designed for their elite speed and power. But Shane Lowry’s current setup might offer something far more relatable and more useful for the rest of us. Lowry plays the Srixon ZXi, a 2025 model that quietly delivered some of the most balanced numbers in MyGolfSpy’s driver test for mid-swing speed players. Srixon ZXi: Quietly dominant
The Srixon ZXI didn’t win best overall. It finished seventh overall, in a place where it would often get overlooked. If you take a second to look deeper into these numbers, there’s a lot to see.

Why the ZXi is so effective
The new Ti72S titanium face is lighter and stronger than previous Srixon materials. It allows for a thinner face that generates more ball speed, even on off-center hits. This was apparent in our testing.
Combine that with Srixon’s updated Rebound Frame and new i-Flex face design and you get a double-trampoline effect at impact.
Translation: better distance without sacrificing too much forgiveness and this is backed up by the results of our mid-swing speed test.
It’s actually easy to fit
Srixon updated its hosel adapter in the ZXi lineup, making adjusting more intuitive. You get 12 loft/lie combinations and swappable heel/toe weights which help dial in shot shape bias. Stock shafts include the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue. The ZXi retails for $549.99, slightly below most flagship models, and is available in nine- and 10.5-degree lofts, right- and left-handed.
Should you try it?
If you’re a mid-swing speed golfer who values consistency off the tee but doesn’t want to give up yardage or speed, it’s worth a test. The Srixon ZXi might not have the same marketing push behind it but the numbers don’t lie. Shane Lowry clearly sees something in it. You might, too.
