While doubts continue to cloud the matchup, it seems confirmation of Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather is edging closer as the rules of their boxing match have surfaced.

‘Iron’ Mike is widely regarded as one of the most terrifying men on the planet, but age has caught up to him as it does everyone. Tyson looked a shadow of his former self when he locked horns with YouTuber Jake Paul late last year, but he’s not ready to hang up the gloves.

While the legendary boxer could likely ride off into the sunset following his large payday a few months back, he is doing the complete opposite. Not only has Mike Tyson accepted another exhibition bout, but he is also putting his legacy further at risk when he collides with fellow boxing icon Floyd Mayweather.

While no date has been revealed for the affair at this time, Fight Hype has rumored a major update.

According to reports, the fight between Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather will consist of eight two-minute rounds. Since embracing the exhibition side of the sport, both men have gotten themselves well-acquainted with that exact round and minute format.

Both Tyson and Mayweather have come to an agreement with CSI SPORTS™/FIGHT SPORTS® to step into the ring against one another and put on a showcase like no other.

“Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are two of the most compelling names and personalities with lasting legacies in all of sports. They are 21st-century icons,” Richard and Craige Miele of CSI SPORTS said.

“Tyson vs. Mayweather will break every broadcast, streaming, and economic record set by Mike Tyson in 2024. We are planning a robust promotional campaign, complete with weekly premium storytelling and worldwide marketing reach.”

“The event itself will be in a world-class venue and be presented to a global audience with new in-ring technology elements that will reshape how boxing is presented and scoring is achieved for years to come.”

Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather adds to the strange but intriguing matchups made possible through the introduction of modern exhibition boxing.
