Woj bomb!
St. Bonaventure men’s basketball general manager Adrian Wojnarowski is returning to media by hosting a new series called “The Program with Woj.” This is not a precursor to returning to an insider role, but rather a way to raise money for the school’s NIL, which the vast majority of the revenue will go toward.
The weekly series will appear on YouTube, where Wojnarowski will interview big-name team builders using his vast contacts from his decades in sports media and first year in the front office.
“I’m learning a lot in this GM role at St. Bonaventure and want to explore my new world with a lot of the innovative team-building minds in sports,” Wojnarowski told The Athletic. “My financial motivation with ‘The Program’ is simply to raise revenue to be distributed directly back to our players on campus.”
The show is being produced by Chris Corcoran’s In the Arena Studios. “The Program with Woj” already has a title sponsor with the company Novig.
Wojnarowski, 56, recently received the Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame for his stellar career breaking stories, writing columns, recording podcasts and appearing on radio and TV. A little more than a year ago, Wojnarowski shocked the media and basketball world by retiring as an ESPN’s NBA insider to become the GM of his alma mater.
Wojnarowski walked away from $20 million when he decided to step away from ESPN.
In Wojnarowski’s first season at St. Bonaventure, the Bonnies went 22-12 overall, 9-9 in the Atlantic 10 and failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
