The BYU Cougars are on the board with one of the top recruits in the state, and this is a big commitment for coach Kalani Sitake and his staff.
There were several other notable programs involved in the recruitment of 4-star EDGE Uhila Wolfgramm. Ultimately, it came down to BYU and the Oklahoma Sooners, but the UCLA Bruins, Utah Utes and Cal Golden Bears were also in the running.
From Spanish Fork, Utah, Wolfgramm was already very familiar with BYU and he had taken several trips to Provo.
Rivals considered this recruitment one of the tightest in the West region, though, because Brent Venables and the Sooners really gave BYU a run for its money.
Sitake and his staff did a great job of making Wolfgramm feel comfortable, though.
“BYU felt like home,” Wolfgramm told Rivals. “It was a really tough decision and I didn’t lock it in until the last 24 hours.
“I loved it at BYU and I love the coaching staff. I’ve been there more than any other school and I have such a strong comfort level there. That staff has been recruiting me for years now and I’m really comfortable with Coach Kalani Sitake and can’t wait to play for him.”
