Isaiah Bertola is a big person, considering the fact that he’s not even in his senior season of high school yet.
A four-star offensive lineman from Honolulu, Hawaii, Bertola checks in at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds. Again, he’s not even had his senior prom.
That size and the talent that comes along with it have made Bertola a hot target on the 2027 recruiting trail. He has over 20 offers to his name with several big-time schools going after his commitment.
That’s a list that features the likes of Auburn, Oregon and Penn State, amongst others, but Bertola’s recruitment came down to the California Golden Bears, USC Trojans, Texas Longhorns and BYU Cougars.
The big offensive lineman took an official visit to Berkeley, California, this past weekend, and that wound up in a massive commitment for new head coach Tosh Lupoi and his staff.
Things just made sense for Bertola at Cal.
“It felt like home for me,” Bertola told Rivals. “I’ve been there twice now and both visits were amazing. They were the best visits I took because of the incredible family feel and how strong my comfort level was with the players and coaches.”
