After decommitting from UCLA on Sept. 29, Iowa football has extended an offer in hopes of landing 2026 wide receiver recruit Xavier Stinson.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver from Vero Beach High School is ranked as a four-star prospect, as the No. 56 wide receiver and as the No. 59 player from the state of Florida by ESPN.

Meanwhile, 247Sports ranks Stinson as a three-star recruit, as the 122nd-ranked wide receiver and as the No. 82 player in the Sunshine State per 247Sports. According to Rivals, Stinson is the country’s 114th-ranked wide receiver and the No. 96 player from Florida in the 2026 class.

Last season, Stinson caught 43 passes for 740 yards and seven touchdowns. This season, he has caught 25 passes for 266 yards and four touchdowns in eight games played, per MaxPreps.

Since decommitting from UCLA, Stinson has picked up offers from Iowa and schools such as Tulane, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Illinois. Stinson also holds offers from fellow Big Ten foes Purdue, Indiana, and Michigan State as well as Power Four programs NC State, Arkansas, Duke, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Stinson had been committed to the Bruins since June 16. However, UCLA’s 0-4 start to the year and subsequent firing of head coach DeShaun Foster led Stinson to withdraw his pledge.

The Hawkeyes’ current receiver crop for the 2026 class includes three-stars Brody Schaffer and Diondre Smith. Adding Stinson would be another boost to a receiving core that Iowa would love to see keep blossoming in Tim Lester’s offensive scheme.
