Meet The Wife Of Kirk Herbstreit (1:13)

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit fired back at an angry college football fan with a two-word message on Sunday evening.

The ESPN college football analyst, who also covers the National Football League for Amazon Prime, is a dog lover. Herbstreit has four golden retrievers. His third youngest, Peter, travels on the road with him to various college football and NFL games. His late dog, Ben, used to have that privilege.

On Sunday, a non-dog lover took issue with Herbstreit’s consistent dog posts on social media.

“Kirk, why do you have a childlike obsession with dogs? It’s Father’s Day, you have children, but you’re still doing this strange dog bit. You’re like 50,” one fan wrote.

Another added: “My initial reaction was ‘what a jerk.’ But – as a father of actual humans – he’s kinda not wrong. It’s a little weird. And likely because of all the media attention he gets because of Ben and the new one, etc.”
