Despite getting shafted by the College Football Playoff committee to close out the 2025-2026 college football season, Texas football managed to end a decent, three-loss season on a winning note in a bowl victory over Michigan. And now, as we look ahead to next season’s kickoff later this year, we wonder… is it ever too early to fuel some Longhorns hype?

That’s at least according to a new ESPN prediction for the CFP next season.
ESPN predicts Texas will land among the upcoming season’s 12-program playoff field.
Just as Texas should have ended up this season.
But alas, revenge will be sweet.
