Michigan football continues to retain talent under new head coach Kyle Whittingham, despite there being several who entered the transfer portal.

On Tuesday, WolverinesWire reported that the maize and blue were set to get back running back Bryson Kuzdzal, who had entered the portal with interest in Georgia and Rutgers. He joined Zeke Berry, Jake Guarnera, Andrew Sprague, Jordan Young, and Enow Etta as players who entered the portal but decided to return to Ann Arbor.

On Wednesday, another made the same decision.

Though not an oft-utilized player, one of the transfer portal wins of last offseason was getting interior offensive lineman Lawrence Hattar from Ferris State. Late this cycle, he decided to test the waters, only for CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz to reveal that Hattar is withdrawing and returning to the Wolverines.

Hattar redshirted this past season, having only appeared in four games total. According to PFF, he had 45 snaps total, with 26 coming on special teams. The most play he saw all season along the offensive line was in Week 3, in the blowout win over Central Michigan. But he did have two snaps vs. Oklahoma playing OL as well.

He is the third offensive lineman to enter the portal and return to Ann Arbor this offseason.
