You don’t often see the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the wrong side of a flip, and that’s especially true when the commitment has just happened.
That’s what makes the case of 2028 quarterback Trey Tagliaferri so interesting, though.
Tagliaferri committed to Notre Dame on June 25, and he seemed to be bought in with head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish. In fact, his commitment to Notre Dame came less than a month after he received the offer.
“What made me commit was the people,” Tagliaferri told Rivals. “I love the people there and we have built great relationships.”
That’s what made Wednesday’s news so strange, especially from the perspective of Notre Dame.
The four-star 2028 quarterback from Oradell, New Jersey, ended up pulling his commitment.
