Penn State’s roster is officially down one defensive end ahead of the 2026 season. Jordan Mayer is reportedly no longer with the program.
According to a report from Lions247, a Penn State spokesperson confirmed Mayer is no longer with the program and has not been with the team for about a week. The reasons for the separation from the program are unknown at this time. It is also unknown if Mayer will be seeking a transfer to another school to continue his college football career.

According to a report from Onward State, Mayer is no longer listed in the school’s online directory either.
Mayer transferred to Penn State from Wisconsin two years ago but has not seen any significant playing time on the field since his arrival. Mayer spent the 2024 season mostly on special teams duty but did not see any game action during the 2025 season.
Mayer is a native of Clairton, Pennsylvania. He was not listed on the team’s official roster for last weekend’s spring game practice.
