MADISON – The window for players to enter the transfer portal closed Jan. 16, but college football teams can continue to add players.

Wisconsin received a commitment from Oklahoma’s Zion Kearney on Jan. 18. The former Oklahoma receiver is the 31st player the Badgers have added this cycle of the portal and the third receiver.

Kearney caught two passes for 31 yards in five games this season. He played 27 snaps of offense, according to Pro football Focus. He played 247 snaps and 11 games and caught eight passes for 128 yards and one touchdown as a freshman.

How many years of eligibility does Zion Kearney have left?

Kearney has two seasons of eligibility remaining. He has not taken his redshirt season.

What are Zion Kearney’s height and weight?

Kearney is listed as 6-foot-1 and 207 pounds on the Oklahoma roster.

How can Zion Kearney help the Wisconsin Badgers?

Similar to Malachi Coleman, a former top-65 recruit Wisconsin added to the position group earlier this month, Kearney is a high-end athlete with great potential. He ran a 4.28-second 40-yard dash in high school and his career average of 15.9 yards per catch is good despite the lack of playing time. Kearney brings more depth and competition, which are good things for an offense in search of a No. 1 receiver.
