Just making the College Football Playoff won’t be good enough for the Texas Longhorns this upcoming season. The expectation should be to win the whole thing.
Why 2026 should be considered national title-or-bust for Texas
On Thursday, ESPN’s Matt Miller wrote on X that,”Texas should have four, maybe five first-rounders [in the 2027 NFL Draft]. National championship expectations couldn’t be higher.”
The players he views as first-round locks are quarterback Arch Manning (6-foot-4, 219 pounds), wide receiver Cam Coleman (6-foot-3, 201 pounds), left tackle Trevor Goosby (6-foot-7, 312 pounds) and defensive end Colin Simmons (6-foot-3, 240 pounds).
He added WR Ryan Wingo (6-foot-2, 214 pounds) and linebacker Rasheem Biles (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) could move into the Day 1 conversation with big seasons.
