The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the South Carolina Gamecocks following a thrilling victory over Tennessee last weekend.
The Tide are traveling to Williams-Brice Stadium to face the unranked Gamecocks as Alabama will look to extend their win streak to seven in a row. Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has had the Crimson Tide offense playing excellent football in recent weeks and the unit has thrived with Ty Simpson under center. The Gamecocks’ defense has struggled in 2025, but Alabama will still need to set the tone early and establish themselves on the offensive side of the football.
Here are three bold takes for Alabama’s afternoon matchup with South Carolina.
Ty Simpson continues to create separation in the Heisman race with 250+ yards and two touchdowns
Simpson is currently the favorite to win the Heisman. The redshirt junior could have another big game against South Carolina’s defense on Saturday as the unit has struggled immensely over the first eight weeks of the season. The talented quarterback threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns against an underwhelming Volunteers defense last weekend, and he continues to solidify himself among the top quarterbacks at the college level in 2025. Simpson will have an excellent opportunity to shine once again on Saturday, and the current Heisman favorite may pick South Carolina’s secondary apart with ease.
Jam Miller explodes for 150+ rushing yards and a touchdown
The Gamecocks biggest weakness is arguably their run defense. The unit has struggled to stop the run throughout the entire season, and Miller could easily find himself having another huge game on Saturday afternoon. Miller was sidelined for the first three games of the season with an injury, but the star running back has been excellent since his return. South Carolina surrendered 171 total rushing yards to Oklahoma last weekend, and Miller will need to take full advantage of the matchup.
The Alabama defense holds LaNorris Sellers to under 150 yards and no touchdowns
Alabama’s defense looked like one of the better units in the country last weekend in Tuscaloosa. LaNorris Sellers was a highly coveted quarterback prior to the start of the season, but the sophomore has had his fair share of struggles throughout 2025. South Carolina’s offense has been extremely underwhelming against AP Top 25 opponents, and the Alabama defense will look to take full advantage of Sellers’ recent struggles.
The Tide will be on the road in South Carolina to face the Gamecocks at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon.
