Charles Woodson Jr makes obvious commitment

In what should come as a surprise to nobody, Michigan football just landed a recruit of one of their former player’s son. Charles Woodson Jr. made the announcement that he would be committing to the program. His father, Charles Woodson, is a Pro Football Hall of Famer, Heisman Trophy winner, and also a Michigan legend.

Woodson was offered under the previous staff, as they made an emphasis to bring him to the program earlier in the year. Head coach Kyle Whittingham, defensive coordinator Jay Hill, safeties coach Tyler Stockton, defensive ends coach Lewis Powell and former defensive like coach Lou Esposito visited his school.

Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and others offered Woodson.

As a junior, Woodson had 73 total tackles. He had two interceptions, one 1 forced fumble and eight defended passes. He also returned one pick for a touchdown and ran back a kickoff.

Michigan has 10 commitments in its 2027 class, as they’ve recently landed four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell and four-star edge rusher Xavier Muhammad.

Muhammad was the nation’s No. 8 overall defensive lineman for the 2027 class, according to On3/Rivals. He was also the No. 12-ranked talent in the state of Texas.

As for Burrell, he had nothing but good things to say about the program after committing.

“The culture around the program,” Burrell said via MLive. “I believe in (head coach Kyle Whittingham), and I believe in, Coach Simon, the receiver coach. I feel like we can win the natty.”

It will be interesting to see who else Michigan lands in their 2027 class, but they already have a good group of guys that should come in and make a difference.
