Ohio State added another piece to its 2027 recruiting class on Saturday as wide receiver Jordan Donahoo announced his commitment to the Buckeyes, choosing them over Cincinnati, Minnesota and Georgia Tech.
Donahoo, a three-star prospect from Oviedo, Florida, becomes Ohio State’s second commitment in as many days and joins five-star receiver Jamier Brown in the Buckeyes’ 2027 class. The addition also gives wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton his first receiver commitment since joining Ohio State.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound receiver earned his scholarship offer through an extended evaluation process. Hankton visited Donahoo’s high school twice to watch him work out before extending an offer. The first workout took place in rainy conditions, allowing Hankton to evaluate how the receiver responded to adversity. A second visit in better weather ultimately resulted in the Buckeyes offering him.
Before receiving Ohio State’s offer, Donahoo had narrowed his recruitment to Minnesota, Georgia Tech and Cincinnati. The Buckeyes late entry into the process prompted him to delay his decision and schedule an official visit to Columbus from June 19-21.
The visit confirmed for Donahoo and his family that Ohio State was the right fit, leading to his commitment.
Donahoo is the No. 1,423 overall prospect and the No. 188 wide receiver in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. Although he remains an under-the-radar recruit, the Buckeyes view his combination of size and long-term potential as a strong developmental fit. His 6-foot-4 frame provides substantial upside as his technique continues to improve.
With Donahoo now on board, Ohio State’s 2027 class stands at 17 commitments and entered the day ranked No. 5 nationally in the On3 team rankings. The Buckeyes are also continuing their pursuit of additional receivers, with five-star Monshun Sales and four-star Benny Easter remaining priority targets as the program prepares for future departures following the 2026 season.
