Skip Bayless recently offered his take on Prescott’s bold championship prediction, drawing from fresh evaluations in The Athletic to support his argument.
Bayless referenced Saturday night when Prescott faced the Rams and told them they would see Dallas in the NFC Championship game.
“Was that more Dak false bravado or does he really believe that about this team, this time, this year? I hope he truly believes that, but I doubt it,” Bayless said.

The skepticism runs deeper than just one analyst’s opinion. Bayless cited Mike Sando’s annual quarterback rankings, where league coaches offered harsh assessments of Prescott’s abilities.
One offensive coach noted that Prescott often plays beyond his physical limits, which eventually catches up to him in crucial moments.
A defensive coach delivered an even more damning evaluation. He said Prescott has proven he cannot win big games and called it the same story every time.
The coach acknowledged Prescott can perform well during the regular season but tends to struggle in marquee matchups and playoff appearances.
Despite these concerns, Jerry Jones has made Prescott the NFL’s highest-paid player twice.
This comes even with a disappointing 2-5 postseason record that raises questions about his value in critical games.
The Cowboys have restructured Prescott’s contract five times, which many view as poor long-term planning.
His deal briefly made him the league’s highest-paid player last season, a distinction critics argue he has not earned given his playoff track record.
