I Bought My Husband This Golf Polo And Everyone Wants To Know Where It’s From

I spend a lot of time analyzing and reviewing women’s golf polos, golf shoes and apparel that work on the course. But I also have a husband who plays a lot of golf.

And every once in a while, I think it’s worth jumping in about something I found that works really well for him.

That’s what happened with the B. Draddy Captain Cool Polo.

I bought him the Captain Cool Polo in the MAC color, a blue and light blue pin-dot pattern that looks good without trying too hard. It’s clean enough for the golf course but not so “golfy” that it looks out of place when we go to dinner.

B. Draddy had a strong presence around the U.S. Open this year and there were plenty of fun, limited-edition pieces to look at. But, for me, the standard Cool Fabric polos are what stand out the most.

B. Draddy Cool Fabric

The Cool Fabric is lightweight, breathable and has a slightly textured feel. B. Draddy says the dimpled texture keeps more of the fabric away from your skin which helps with airflow. It’s also moisture-wicking, has stretch and offers UPF 50+ sun protection.

We haven’t had a day under 89F recently where we live so shirts with the right fabric just make sense.

The other thing I noticed is how well it holds up. He wears this shirt a lot and it comes out of the dryer ready to be worn again.

At $128, it’s slightly higher than some other golf polo brands. But for the quality, I can see where the price is coming from. Luckily, he’s one of those guys who would rather have a few really great golf shirts than a closet full of cheap, underperforming ones.

Final thoughts

The fit helps, too. It’s not baggy but not overly slim, either. I’d call the fit true to size. The shoulder seam is designed to sit above the shoulder for better movement and the vented hem works tucked or untucked.

And, apparently, people notice. Every time my husband wears it, someone asks where it’s from.
