Ronda Rousey has expressed her gratitude towards the professional wrestling segment of her career, but has no intention of ever returning to the WWE.
‘Rowdy’ carried her superstardom from the UFC over to the wrestling ring and managed to be a huge success in the sport. Her time competing with the world’s premier wrestling promotion was a significant moment in her life, but the 38-year-old isn’t interested in revisiting that chapter.
During an appearance on the Bertcast podcast, Ronda Rousey revealed all. Rousey had several controversial moments, but one of the talking points was her revelation about her time in the WWE.
“There were times I was stressed when it would be just such a sh*t show backstage,” Rousey said regarding her time in the WWE. “I would be going out to do a match that I don’t even know what it is.”
“I have to improvise it, you know, out there with zero experience basically. Or [there were times that] I just got handed some promo that I have to say that I don’t believe in, that everyone’s going to sh*t on.”
Ronda Rousey tasted WWE gold on many occasions. The 2022 Royal Rumble winner captured the SmackDown Women’s championship twice and held the Raw Women’s and the Women’s Tag Team titles once.
Her accomplishments in the ring make her one of the biggest UFC/WWE success stories alongside Brock Lesnar and Ken Shamrock. However, Rousey denounced her interest in a return to the WWE.
“I always speak my mind, and that is kind of what helped me get to this point. And when I was over there, I felt like a lot of the time, I was having to do somebody else’s impression of myself.”

Rousey continued.
“Yeah, [I wanted to return to the WWE after I left the first time]. I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. I’ll do it even better the next time.’ You know?”
“But then I went back, it was like the death rows of the Vince McMahon era, and it was not what I expected.”
“So, I’m probably not going to be going back. I’m very grateful for the experience and what I was able to help the women do to get to the main event of Wrestlemania.”
“But, you know, it’s not my circus, not my monkeys.”
