Kalen DeBoer knows that the annual Iron Bowl game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers is a big deal.
New Auburn head coach Alex Golesh apparently also understands that as well, and he’s earned a hat-tip from his biggest rival’s head coach in the process.
It was noted at an Auburn spring practice that Golesh, who was at South Florida from 2023 to 2025, dedicated an entire session of practice to preparing for the Iron Bowl.
Golesh won’t coach in that game until Nov. 28, but he’s already trying to get his team ready for the atmosphere at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Part of that prep included blaring the song “Dixieland Delight” during this special practice period. Sung by the band Alabama, this song is always played at Bryant-Denny between the third and fourth quarters.
