New head coach Tosh Lupoi has a lot of work to do to bring the Cal Golden Bears back to some semblance of relevance in college football.
Getting big recruiting wins on the recruiting trail is a great start, though, and Lupoi and Cal just did that with a commitment from four-star cornerback Duvay Williams.
Williams, from Inglewood, California, is one of the top athletes in the country and one of the best players from his talent-laden state.
He can play wide receiver or cornerback, but the Bears plan to use him at corner at the college level. According to the 247Sports Composite, he’s ranked as the No. 31 cornerback in the 2027 class.
Williams committed to Lupoi and the Golden Bears on Wednesday.
UCLA and Arizona State were also in the running for his commitment.
