Gervonta Davis has enjoyed an accomplished career as a professional boxer.
The 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland has won world titles in three weight divisions, claiming 30 straight victories with 28 of those coming inside the distance.
Davis, who is better known as ‘Tank’, currently holds the WBA lightweight title, which he won at the end of 2021 with a comprehensive points victory over Isaac Cruz.
He has made three successful title defences since then, claiming victories against Rolly Romero, Hector Garcia and Frank Martin, as well as picking up a spectacular knockout win over Ryan Garcia in a non-title bout.
In a video clip that has recently surfaced, ‘Tank’ spoke out and revealed that the only man he feels could beat him, is actually himself.
“The only person that can beat me is Gervonta Davis. The others can’t touch me at all. They have all been in the ring with me and I cracked both of them. It ain’t no 50-50 fight.
How you going to keep me off when you don’t have any power?”
Davis is due make the next defence of his WBA title at 135lbs against Lamont Roach on March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The 30-year-old made a shock revelation at the end of last year, claiming he intends to retire from boxing within the next 12 months as he admits he has he is tired of the sport and wishes to spend more time with his family.
Although he has not officially announced his future, 2025 could be the 13th and final year of Davis’ glittering boxing career.
